Basic ResearchStanford University contains a vibrant and rapidly growing visual science community conducting research in such areas as retinal pathophysiology, prosthetic vision, novel microsurgical tools, advanced diagnostics and imaging, therapeutic laser applications, ophthalmic tissue engineering, artificial cornea and ocular microbiology.
